Trajan (AD 98-117). Orichalcum sestertius (34mm, 27.51 gm, 6h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 4/5, Fine Style. Rome, AD 102. IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIAN AVG GERM P M TR P VI, laureate bust  of Trajan right, aegis on left shoulder / IMP IIII COS IIII DES V P P S - C, Pax seated left, holding olive branch in extended right hand and scepter cradled in left arm. RIC 446 variant (omits aegis). Cohen 171 variant (same). Apparently an unrecorded variant with aegis! A majestic portrait in highest style, struck on a broad and weighty flan, with a superb warm brown patina.
