Macrinus (AD 217-218). Æ sestertius (34mm, 27.67 gm, 6h). XF, smoothing. Rome, AD 217. IMP CAES M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG, layreate, cuirassed bust of Macrinus right with short beard / IOVI CONSERVATORI S - C, Jupiter standing left, holding scepter and thunderbolt, sheltering small female figure standing to right before him. RIC 189. BMCRE 102. Cohen 39. Very rare! Struck on a medallic flan, with a deep reddish-brown patina, the surfaces heavily smoothed in fields.
