Cambodia
Ang Duang white-metal Pattern 1/4 Tical CS 1209 (1848) MS63 NGC, cf. KM39 (for business strike). An extremely rare pattern issue struck in white metal, this piece is part of series of denominational patterns designed for the king of Cambodia with equipment provided by W. P. Hammond of London. The hamza bird is featured on the obverse, while the reverse displays royal palace, and the surfaces as a whole are brightly white and stunningly brilliance and choice. A similarly graded example (NGC MS63, though inferior in the opinion of this cataloger) realized a hammer of $4,250 in 2013.
