Ferdinand VI gold 8 Escudos 1759 So-J AU50 NGC, Santiago mint, KM13, Fr-8. 'FERDIND' variety. A fairly scarce type, especially in this lightly circulated grade. Only gentle wear is observable, while a hint of luster remains. The strike is sharp and offers tremendous appeal to the viewer. A similar example, graded NGC XF45, realized a hammer of $8,000 in our 2012 NYINC auction (sale 3016, lot 23577).
