Republic copper Proof Pattern Peso 1898 PR58 Brown NGC, KM-PnB10. Reeded edge variety. Designed by Philip Martiny and struck by Gorham & Company, this exceptionally pleasing proof pattern exhibits deep brown surfaces and only the slightest hint of light wear on the high points. A few lightly scattered marks are noted, along with some darker brown spotting in and around the legends on the reverse, though in no way distract from the visual experience. A scarcely encountered type.
