Philippe VI (1328-1350) gold Écu d'or à la chaise ND MS61 NGC, 1st Emission, from 1 January 1337, 4.48g, Fr-270, Duplessy-249. + PhILIPPVS : DЄI x | x GRA x | FRAnCORVM : RЄX, King seated on Gothic throne, a sword in his right hand and his left supporting a shield / + o XP'C : VInCIT : XP'C : RЄGИAT : XP'C : INPЄRAT, cross fleurée with voided quatrefoil in center and at the ends of the limbs, leaves in angles; all within a quadrilobe with trefoils in spandrels. While exhibiting some past handling, this piece remains attractive in hand with some luster and moderate tone.
