Jean II le Bon (1350-1364) gold Mouton d'or ND AU58 NGC, from 17 January 1355, 4.68g, Fr-280, Dup-291. + AGn • DЄI • QVI • TOLL' • PCCA • MVDI • MISЄRЄRЄ • nOB', nimbate Agnus Dei left, head right, a long cross with banner behind; all within a tressure broken by IOh' RЄX in the exergue / + XP'C ‡ VInCIT ‡ XP'C ‡ RЄGHAT ‡ XP'C ‡ IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée with lis in angles; all within an angled quadrilobe with lis in spandrels. A toned piece, struck from aged dies which has lent a textured effect to the surfaces. The details remain sharp and there is very little evidence of circulation.
