Louis XI (1461-1483) gold Ecu d'or au soleil ND MS63 NGC, Poitiers mint, from 2 November 1475, 3.48g, Fr-314, Dup-544. (crown and bird) LVDOVICVS 8 DЄI 8 GRA 8 FRAnCORVM 8 RЄX 8, crowned arms of France with a sun above, a point beneath the eighth letter / (crown and bird) XPS 8 VInCIT 8 XPS 8 RЄGnAT 8 XPS 8 IMPЄRAT, cross fleurdelisée. Highly lustrous and exhibiting a remarkable strike, this piece is highly unusual. It is struck at a very uncommon mint for this issue and additionally has a bird alongside the crown at the beginning of both the obverse and reverse legends.
