Louis XV Ecu 1740-A MS62 NGC, Paris mint, KM512.1, D-1331, Gad-322. First year of issue, with outstanding steel-gray surfaces and a delicate layer of cerulean and blush tones that resides beneath the blanketing patina. The portrait of Louis XV shows sharpness throughout, with particular attention drawn to his coiffure, and the reverse designs are fully complimentary in nature. While a few Proof examples have shown up in the marketplace, this appears to be the only Mint-State certified example of the date at this time.
