Jever - Russian Administration. Friederike Auguste Sophie Taler 1798 AU55 NGC, Silberhutte mint, KM110, Dav-2363, Bit-1 (R1). A rare issue, and always popular when it comes to market due to its appeal to both German and Russian collectors. Struck during the Russian occupation of Jever, which had been given to Catherine II of Russia, the sister of Prince Frederick August, following his death in 1793. It remained in Russian hands until taken by Napoleon in 1807. A little weakly struck in the central devices on the reverse, but overall quite presentable.
