Oliver Cromwell 1/2 Crown 1658 AU58 NGC, Royal mint, KM-B207, S-3227A. A fairly scarce and highly attractive example of this issue of Cromwell as Protector. Deeply toned and exceedingly lustrous, exuding hints of cobalt near the peripheries. Clearly a much superior piece than the Tan specimen, a PCGS AU55, which realized a hammer of $5,500 in our 2014 CICF auction (sale 3032, lot 24896). Worthy of in-hand admiration and a premium bid.
