Victoria Proof Pattern Shilling ND (1865) PR64 PCGS, Royal mint, ESC-1393 (R). Plain edge. Wreathed head. A stunning, undated pattern struck during the middle of Victoria's reign, featuring finely-engraved design illustrations that are very pleasing to the eye. Gunmetal coloring atop the Queen's wreathed portrait stands in contrast to the surrounding cerulean mirrors that brighten to a glowing champagne color at the rims and the Order of the Garter shield is drenched in graphite patina. With exceptional pinpoint definition noted throughout and fields that are essentially free of any handling marks, this intriguing issue which features the reverse design from the gold Sovereign absolutely delights.
