British India. George VI nickel Proof 1/4 Rupee 1946-(b) PR63 NGC, Bombay mint, S&W-9.102a; (where it is noted, "occurs in set with Rupee and 1/2"). Essentially free of tone with luminous reflectivity in the fields and only faint evidence of handling in the form of light hairlines. A few instances of verdigris are observed on the obverse and reverse rims. A rarity in proof format.
