Ferdinand VII Type I "Manila" Countermarked 8 Reales 1828 F12 NGC, Manila mint, KM26.1. Struck over a Peru Lima mint 8 Reales 1828 LIMA-JM. An attractive example of this highly collectable countermarked type, exhibiting a deep cabinet tone. The countermarks are well executed on each side, and the undertype on the reverse is particularly strong as well. An interesting host which did not circulate long before being re-purposed for use in the Philippines.
