NORTHEAST GAUL. The Parisii. Ca. 100-50 BC. AV stater (23mm, 6.91 gm, 3h). NGC AU 5/5 - 4/5. Class V. Celticized head of Apollo to right, with wavy hair and a floral ornament before / Disjointed and stylized horse galloping left, fan-like quatrefoil checkerboard design above. D&T 83. De la Tour 7777. Very rare. Struck on a broad flan. Reverse die break and areas of weakness, otherwise pleasing and impressive.
