MYSIA. Lampsacus. Ca. 500-450 BC. EL stater (20mm, 15.09 gm). NGC Choice VF 4/5 - 4/5. Forepart of winged horse (Pegasus?) left, bridled, with birdlike tail at truncation, vine tendril with grape bunches to left / Quadripartite incuse square, the interior division somewhat irregular, with two quarters partly filled. Baldwin p. 8, 13 and pl. 1, 11. BMFA 1582. Rare! Boldly struck on a full flan, with a particularly noble Pegasus.
