Philippe VI (1328-1350) gold Couronne d'or ND MS63 NGC, from 29 January 1340, 5.36g, Fr-275, Dup-252. + x Ph' x DI x GRA x REX x FRAИC x, royal crown in a field of six lis / + o XP'C : VInCIT : XP'C : RЄGИAT : XP'C : IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée within polylobe, crowns and lis in angles, trefoils in spandrels. An extremely rare offering, this piece is outstanding in its presentation. The module is well-centered on a broad flan with bold details and just a hint of ghosting into the reverse. The needle-sharp details of the crown in particular are accentuated by vivid luster glowing softly beneath warm reddish tone. Exceptional and very rare.
