Charles VI (1380-1422) gold 1/2 Heaume d'or ND (c. 1418) UNC Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, La Rochelle mint, 2.48g, Fr-296, Dup-374A. + KAROLVS : DЄI : GRACIA : FRANCORVM : RЄX, French arms beneath a crowned and draped helm, an annulet beneath the ninth letter / + XPC * VINCIT * XPC * RЄGNAT * XPC * INPЄRAT, cross fleurée in angled quadrilobe with lis in spandrels, one lis replaced by a saltire and another by a trefoil of three pellets. A very rare variety of this fractional gold denomination, with some irregularity of strike and faintly hairlined surfaces from a long past cleaning, now beginning to retone.
