Republic gold Essai 100 Francs 1929 MS62 NGC, Paris mint, Maz-2543, VG-5225. Mintage: 9. By O. Yencesse. This lovely pattern in gold depicts a leftward facing Liberty on the obverse with three ears of wheat on the reverse. A few coppery spots appear scattered on and around Liberty's portrait, while light handling that blends over the surfaces determines the grade. Rarely offered, this is the first example of its type that we have seen appear on the market in more than 6 years.
