Great Britain
Commonwealth gold Unite 1651 AU55 NGC, KM395.1, S-3208. Sun mintmark. An historic and ever-popular type, the coinage of the Commonwealth of England are the only coins in the history of Britain (including modern-day issues) to have an inscription entirely in English. All types feature the same basic design of an English shield on the obverse and conjoined shields of St. George on the reverse; everything from a sixpence and larger bears the inscriptions of "The Commonwealth of England" on the obverse and "God With Us" on the reverse. This coin is a little unevenly struck, with a very faint waviness to the flan, but is still quite nice for the issue. Pleasing light red toning throughout.
