William & Mary gold Guinea 1689 AU55 PCGS, Royal mint, KM474.1, S-3426. Early harp type, with base of harp slanted and in line with the X of REX. Attractive light toning, with minimal blemishes or surface abrasions. A type that often comes in very low quality, a certified example of this type in this grade or higher has not been offered publicly at auction by any firm in the world since January 2014, when we sold an NGC AU58 for $10,281. A great opportunity for the guinea collector.
