British India. East India Company - Victoria gold Mohur 1841-(c) MS62 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM462.2, Prid-22, S&W-3.11 Type B/1, W.W. incuse with crosslet 4. Obv. Young portrait of Queen Victoria left. Rev. Lion facing left, with palm tree in background and denomination below. Regarded as the rarest variety for the split legend type, with the obvious addition of a "spike" that punctuates the intersecting lines of the 4 in the date. Fully lustrous, with light marks and a sharp strike. The re-cut date adds to the interest of this very scarce type. As nice as any example we have offered of this variety.
