British India. George VI Rupee 1939-(b) MS62 NGC, Bombay mint, KM555. Reeded edge. Gray-toned throughout, with delicate blushes of peach and mauve that warm the surfaces on both sides. Two spots are noted over the obverse and for the grade, few marks are seen, with a pair of reeding marking in the field behind George's bust being the most visible on either side. All considered, a seldom-seen chance to acquire this major 20th century rarity, as our last offering was another NGC-graded MS62 that brought $16,450 in our August 2014 ANA auction.
