Muhammad Imad al-Din V Iskandar gold Proof Off-Metal 2 Lariat AH 1319 (1901) MS66 NGC, Heaton mint, cf. KM-Pn2 (strike in silver). An incredible off-metal striking, showing flares of copper throughout the apricot-golden surfaces, along with a well-executed strike, albeit a little off the flan, that immediately draws the eye inward while original luster surrounds the raised portions in a rich embrace. Of the highest technical quality offered to date, and likely among the finest extant of the type, easily besting the pedigreed Adams/Farouk example which realized a hammer of $12,000 in early 2016. Sold with an old collector's ticket.
