Ferdinand VI gold 2 Escudos 1758 Mo-MM AU55 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM127 (unlisted date), Cal Type 49 #169, Cayon-10773. Obv. Armored bust of Ferdinand VI right with date below. Rev. Crowned arms with mintmark and assayer's initials below. Sharply struck, with abundant remaining mint luster and light handling marks. Missing from the fantastic Rudman Collection of Mexican coins, this exceedingly rare piece is the only example certified by NGC or PCGS. The only other example of the 1758 Mo 2 Escudo that we can reference was sold in the Emilio Carles-Tolrá sale in Barcelona in 1936, Lot 1449. Needless to say, this is a great rarity and missing from most major collections of Mexico gold coins.
