Republic silver "Miner & Camel" Specimen Pattern Onza 1951 SP60 PCGS, Mexico City mint, KM-Pn198var. Struck with the same alluring miner obverse as the previous lot, but paired with an even rarer reverse die that features another exotic and highly unusual animal for a Mexican issue -- the camel. One of just two known, this pattern onza displays bold detail over the design and very light toning accents on both sides. Previous ownership outside of numismatic hands has resulted in numerous hairlines that have brightened the surfaces, but their cumulative effect isn't overly egregious. The only example available to collectors for the foreseeable future, as the only other example known currently resides in a tightly held private collection. An important offering for the specialist collector thus.
