Theodosius II, Eastern Roman Emperor (AD 402-450). AV solidus (4.53 gm). NGC MS 5/5 - 3/5. Constantinople, AD 443-445. Pearl-diademed, helmeted, cuirassed bust of Theodosius II facing, head slightly right, spear in right hand over shoulder, shield in left decorated with horseman motif / Constantinopolis enthroned left, left foot on prow, globus cruciger in right hand, scepter in left, star before, shield beside. RIC 293. Very attractive coin with three points in obverse legend and all six points in reverse legend.
