The medal was struck by the Royal Mint in 1930. As well as a formal reception at Guildhall in London, on 5 July 1927, King Fuad's visit included a trip to Horrockses Cotton Mill in Preston, Lancashire and staying with the Hon. Mrs. Margaret Greville at Polsedon Lacey.
