Another fully issued note from this rare series. An 1873 issued note with five-line 1899 overprint on the brown back. The series is beautifully styled and this is no exception. The vignette at the left, Zoe, was originally engraved by Bald, Cousland & Co. in the late 1850s for use on many American obsolete banknotes. Oval surcharge on face and back. Small cancel and noted as previously mounted, tape on the holder. However, there are gorgeous colors on both sides and it presents beautifully. Looks like a four-figure note in our opinion.
