A beautiful note in many regards. The fourth example in this five-note set of 1899 Banco Nacional Provisionals, overprinted on an American Bank Note Co. printed Banco de Márquez, Barranquilla remainder note (P-S585) is vibrant on both sides. Soft golden face tint contrasts beautifully with the red BANCO NACIONAL seal at the bottom center. Condor at the center with a smoking volcano in the background. Allegory of the Arts, Music, and Literature at the left. Portrait lower right. The back is orange with expressively printed 1899 "Junta" text. Punch hole cancelled and previously mounted are noted. An unpriced type in the SCWPM and in outstanding condition. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
