COLOMBIA. Uribe é Hijos. 1 Peso, 187_. P-S911. Archival Record Book Face and Back Proofs. Extremely Fine.
The discovery of three face and back proof pairs from this series created a new issuer listing in the SCWPM. Until 1990, they were unknown and individual proofs and specimen notes did not appear in other ABN sale lots, only in this record book. The Uribe family is old and their textile conglomerate still exists. Though a private firm, it certainly operated as a wealthy private bank. There were 5,000 issued notes authorized from the first printing of November 1870. Gorgeous green protector and green security back. The vignette style is exceptional. Some glue flaws from preparation to the page, but the color is very vibrant. It has been over 27 years since these were last sold and they are now cataloged individually for the first time. Priceless to specialists and a tremendous opportunity. Extremely Fine.
From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Paper Money.
Estimate: $2000.00- $4000.00
