COLOMBIA. Banco de Río Hacha. 50 Centavos, January 1, 1883. P-S817p. Archival Record Book Face and Back Proofs. Uncirculated.
A rare bank that was unlisted when Christie's cataloged the 1990 ABN sale. Therefore, most known examples are proofs and specimens from the 1990 ABN sale lots, now offered from the Eldorado Collection. There were notes printed twice for this type. 5,000 notes were authorized February 1883 and 30,000 notes in December 1885. Series A. In the record book, the reported 20 Centavos was printed in January 1886 with 25,000 examples. However, no proof is recorded and the Eldorado Collection includes only a 15-subject specimen sheet of the type. This is an orange face tinted proof with a deeper orange back. Both impressions are choice. An important record of what was a discovery type in 1990. Uncirculated.
From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Paper Money.
Estimate: $500.00- $1000.00
