COLOMBIA. Banco del Sur. 1 Peso, ND (1907). P-S851p. Archival Record Book Face and Back Proofs. Uncirculated.
Prior to 1990, this was an unlisted bank in the Pick. The ABN record books were never studied by scholars for security reasons (the ABN was a security printer). This bank was in Pasto, in southeast Colombia, at an elevation over 8,000 feet. The census of proofs in the 1990 ABN sale is haphazard since they got scattered into different lots. There were 250,000 authorized to be printed in April 1907. No series, to be written in. No face tint and each denomination has a common design style. The size progresses upward as the denomination increases. Green backs on all added to their cost efficiency. This is a choice pair. Uncirculated.
From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Paper Money.
Estimate: $400.00- $800.00
