This particular series depicts a stylized rendition of "Germania" on the Five Mark and Three Mark. While the One and Two Marks display a stylized globus cruciger with denomination superimposed on the obverse. They all share similar reverse designs of the imperial eagle of minor variations. Karl Goetz was a prolific medalist during the early decades of the 20th century. His works are seen in many different forms including cast and struck medals, plaques and coins. Each piece is sharply struck displaying hard flashy proof surfaces and frosted cameo devices giving a stark contrast between them. Each piece has varying degrees of tone from light golden and russet hues in the peripheries on the 5 Mark and 2 Mark to multicolored tone on the 1 Mark in the peripheries to the 3 Mark which has hues of light heather purple, blue, green and gold.
