MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1828-GoMJ. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details Secure Holder.
KM-383.7, Fr-72. VERY RARE first date of the Guanajuato mint for gold. Well struck with good definition of the fine details and full eagle breast, lovely old tone in the peripheries displaying orange, red, blue and purple hues. Hairlines from long ago as noted on the holder are present in the open fields which are somewhat subdued from sitting for a prolonged period of time. Richard Long indicates that this date is "extremely rare" in his "Gold Coins of the Early Mexican Republic", North Bend, Oregon 2004. An important opportunity for the specialist of Republican coinage or Mexican gold. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details Secure Holder.
Estimate: $1400.00- $1800.00
