As the Batavian Republic would not stop its profitable smuggling trade with England, Napoleon installed his younger brother Louis as the puppet king of Holland in 1806. When he proved unable or unwilling to Staunch the smuggling, he was in turn ousted in 1810 and the Netherlands annexed to the French Empire. A flashy, flawless example struck as the Napoleonic Empire reached its zenith. Light attractive smokey grey tone with highlights of russet in the peripheries. PCGS MS-65 Secure Holder.
