RUSSIA. Novodel Pattern Ruble, 1762-CNB. Peter III (1761-62). NGC EF-40.
Bit-H44 (R2); Sev-1887. VERY RARE. Faint traces remain of the host, a ruble of Catherine the Great which is easily identifiable based on the direction of the oblique edge reeding. The novodels of the rubles of Peter III (Bitkin H42 thru H52) were struck on a variety of host coins. Well struck with attractive grey tone which deepens towards the edges and devices and hints of a blue sheen. NGC EF-40.
