FRANCE. Pair of Bronze & Silver Medals for the Paris World's Fair, 1855.
60 mm. The silver specimen weighs 130 grams, and the edge is marked with a pointing hand and "ARGENT". Both with bare bust of Napoleon III facing right, signed "ALBERT BARRE". The reverse with the French Royal Coat of Arms surrounded with shields representing the 20 nations who participated in the exposition. Woven among these images is a ribbon inscribed: "EXPOSITION UNIVERSALLE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRIE BEAUX-ARTS / PARIS 1855". The silver medal has light wispy hairlines mentioned for accuracy. A nicely matched set graded EXTREMELY FINE.
