GREAT BRITAIN. Assorted Medals, ca. 17th-20th Centuries.
31 pieces in lot. The majority are coronation medals, but there are many award and commemorative medals as well. Sizes range from 21 to 71 millimeters, and 12 of them are struck in silver. Some of the more attractive pieces are a silver Trinity College Award medal featuring an antique bust of Queen Elizabeth I, but awarded in 1920 as a prize for achievement in science and math, a large 51 mm silver 1902 Official Coronation Medal for Edward VII, and an 1897 silver Victoria Diamond Jubilee medal, still with its original Royal Mint envelope. Slight duplication. A few of the earlier pieces appear to be cast copies. Some have been cleaned, have rim bumps and/or have other defects. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. Retail value over $1,800.00. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. FINE to UNCIRCULATED.
