GREAT BRITAIN. Miscellaneous Exposition Medals, 1851-1925.
7 pieces in lot. Includes two medals for the Great Exhibition of 1851 - a For Services Medal and an Exhibitor's Medal, both bronze, the first Near Mint, the other Extremely Fine, Eimer 1458 and 1459. There are two from the 1862 International Exhibition - Gilt and Silvered Bronze examples of the Prince Albert Memorial medal by H. Uhlhorn of Prussia, Eimer-1556. The silvered example encapsulated and graded MS-64 by NGC - the gilt piece Near Mint. The last two British pieces are both for the 1924-1925 British Empire Exposition: An Eimer-1987 1924 Exhibitor's medal, and the Exhibitor's Medal for 1925, Eimer-1997. Both of these Bronze medals are graded SP-66 and are encapsulated in Secure Holders by PCGS. The final piece in this lot is a 53 x 81 mm Bronze French Carnegie Award Medal issued to E. J. Filliat in 1911. Mint state, in original fitted presentation case. A couple have rim bumps and/or have other defects. Closer personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. Retail value of this lot is about $650.00. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. EXTREMELY FINE to PCGS SP-66.
