SOUTH AFRICA. Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal Set in Gold, Silver & Bronze, 1953.
31 mm. The gold 18.8 gms, the silver 16.9 gms, and bronze 15.8 gms. The obverse featuring the young Queen, facing right, "ELIZABETH SECUNDA" around. Signed HP below the bust. The reverses each feature iconic South African flora and fauna as well as the common inscription "KRONING - CORONATION / 2.6.1953." The edges of the precious metal pieces are stamped with hallmarks including metal fineness (15 CT and STG) and the South African Mint logo. Housed in the original South African Mint presentation case. The case VERY FINE, the medals MINT STATE.
