Marcus Aurelius. AD 161-180. Æ Sestertius (33mm, 26.53 g, 11h). Rome mint. Struck AD 163. IMP CAES M AVREL ANTONINVS AVG P M, bare headed bust right, slight drapery over far shoulder / SALVTI AVGVSTOR TR P XVII, COS III in exergue, S C across field, Salus standing left, holding patera in right hand and feeding snake rising from garlanded altar and cradling scepter in left arm. RIC III 841 var. (bust type); MIR 18, 54-6/12; Banti 284; BMCRE 1037 note. Good VF, dark green patina, some minor roughness and deposits on reverse. Attractive portrait. Rare bust type for issue.
