ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 720-745. AR Sceatt (11mm, 1.03 g, 9h). Series K/N related group. Mint in East Kent or lower Thames region(?). Figure standing facing in crescent boat, holding cross pommée and long scepter / Fantastic creature right, head reverted. Cf. Abramson 37.20 (for type); SCBI 63 (BM), 563 var. (cross and scepter in opposite hands); SCBC 828. Fine, porous. Very rare.
