Iran: Highly rare - until now worldwide unique - proof trial print for a KINGFOM OF IRAN under the bank name "Bank Melli Iran" 20 Rials (AH1313) Note by the Austrian State Printing Works (Wiener Staatsdruckerei) dated about 1930 in a design that was unknown until now. It was used as a proposal for the Iranian Central Bank for the design of a new banknote series that had to be offered in former times. But the designs of the Austrian Printing Works were not adopted and lateron the notes were printed by the American Bank Note Company. Until now it was totally unknown that design trials also had been made by the Austrian printing works. This note is printed intaglio on banknote paper uniface, not mounted and not composite essay. It has been printed fully by use of an engraved intaglio plate. The portrait of Shah Reza in the style of P. 24-30 with military hat. Printed in mainly red-brown and light blue-yellow color with the specimen serial number A/1 100 - 100.000 this note marks a very rare item of Iranian Banknote history which is now auctioned for the first time. Light folds in paper, XF+ to aUNC. Do not miss the chance to get this beautiful item. Highly rare archival piece.
