Anonymous (attributed to Nicephorus III). Ca. 1078-1081. AE follis (24.78 mm, 5.71 g, 7 h). Anonymous, Class I. Constantinople mint, struck c. 1075-80. Nimbate bust of Christ facing, wearing pallium and colobium and holding book of Gospels; in fields to left and right, IC – XC / Latin cross, X at center, globule and two pellets at each extremity; two crescents in upper field; two floral ornaments in lower field . SBCV 1889. Good VF for type, dark green smooth patina obverse, somewhat rough olive patina. flan somewhat ragged-edged as usual.
