SASANIAN KINGS. Kavād (Kavādh) I. First reign, AD 488-497. Æ Pashiz (17mm, 0.86 g, 3h). BYŠ (Bishapur) mint. Uncertain RY date (possibly RY 4 = AD 492). Bust right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos set on crescent, ribbons and crescents on shoulders; star behind crown, pyramid of six pellets above right ribbon / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants; star and crescent flanking flames. Cf. SNS type IIa/1e; cf. SNS Schaaf 528; Sunrise –. Good VF, brown surfaces. Very rare.
