IRELAND. John. As King, 1199-1216. AR Penny (19.5mm, 1.44 g, 1h). Third ('Rex'/Triangle) coinage. Dublin mint; Roberd, moneyer. Struck circa 1207-1211. Crowned facing bust, holding cruciform scepter; rosette to right; all within triangle / Pinwheel (sun) within crescent moon; three stars around; all within triangle. D&F 50; SCBC 6228. Good VF, toned, areas of weak strike.
