PERGAMENE KINGDOM. Attalus I (241-197 BC). AR tetradrachm (16.86 gm). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 3/5, Fine Style. Pergamum, in the name and types of Alexander III the Great of Macedon, struck ca. 215-200 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus seated left on high backed throne; holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; coiled serpent and monogram inner left field. Price 1490. Evidently quite rare, with no other examples recently offered at auction.
