BORNEO: Da Gang, 1822-1852, clay mold, Montrado region, Millies-258, two pieces, 65x97mm, da gang gong si // he shun (referring to the He Shun Gongsi Federation), written in the so called "Kaishu" script, pair of clay molds for producing two coins, EF, RRR. After several wars the independence of the Heshun Gongsi Federation ended with the surrender of the Da Gang Gongsi to the Dutch in July, 1854. After the surrender the majority of the gongsi cash were melted down. A paper has been published in the Numismatic Chronicle 1993, pp.171-196, and a hitherto unknown piece has been described in the ONS Newsletter no. 143, p. 15-16, 1995, by Dr.T.D.Yih. These are the only molds we have ever seen on the market for any of the Heshun Gongsi Federation coins.
