Iran, Muhammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, a set of 31 gold commemorative medals struck to 100g, 50g and 25g weights, all stamped with marks denoting .900 fineness, extremely fine to virtually mint state, some of the larger medals with some friction and handling marks This handsome set of 31 medals, housed in a specially-made fitted case, was presented to a member of the vendor's family by the Shah during the 1970s, reportedly one of only three such sets assembled. The original presentation case was damaged beyond repair, and the set is offered with a recent, custom-made replacement. The medals comprise the following: Struck at 100g weight (5): i) Twelve Laws of the White Revolution, gold medal (100.06g), SH 1341 (AD 1962), Muhammad Reza Shah standing on globe with clouds behind, right hand aloft, rev., twelve figures representing the Twelve Laws arranged radially with scroll at centre, three medallions below ii) 2,500th Anniversary of the Persian Empire, gold medal (99.61g), undated, jugate busts of Muhammad Reza Shah and Cyrus the Great to left, rev., cylindrical clay tablet within elaborate border, Iranian arms above;; iii) Muhammad Reza Shah, Medallic and Philatelic Issues of his Reign, gold medal (100.27g), SH 1350 (AD 1971), obverses of five medals and three postage stamps, rev., reverses of five medals; iv) Mother's Day, gold medal (100.17g), SH 1354 (AD 1975), bust of Empress Farah Diba to left, rev., empress seated holding book, mother and three children around v) Gold medal (100.01g), SH 1354 / AD 1975, bust of Empress Farah Diba to left, rev., oak-wreath with two-line legend above;
